VietJetAir welcomed the arrival of our first plane on the morning of December 14th, 2011 at Ho Chi Minh City’s Tan Son Nhat International Airport.
The aircraft is one of 3 new Airbus A320-200 planes that will make up the VietJetAir fleet when Vietnam’s new low-cost carrier takes to the skies on Christmas Day 2011.
Speaking at a lively ceremony to mark the arrival of our new aircraft, Pritam Singh, Deputy General Director of VietJetAir, said “VietJetAir is a low-cost carrier and has chosen the Airbus A320 for its fuel efficiency, low maintenance and operating costs and flight quality. With these new aircraft, we are looking forward to providing all our customers with a comfortable, safe and enjoyable flying experience.”
“In the next few days, our other aircraft will arrive in Vietnam so we can begin expanding our flight network. The other company aircraft will also be painted in crimson and with a fresh dynamic yellow– colors that signal youth and integration but still bring to mind the colors of Vietnam,” a VietJetAir representative added.
Airbus A320 aircraft can carry up to 180 passengers for all flights within Asia and have one of the widest cabins of all single-aisle aircraft. This type of aircraft is also known for its reliability and low operating costs.
VietJetAir has a team of highly experience international pilots and all of its flight attendants have been trained overseas.
To celebrate the arrival of our first aircraft, VietJetAir also offered 2,000 one-way tickets for just VND 10,000. The half-day sale ran from 8am to 12.59pm on December 14 and was incredibly popular with thousands of people visiting the company website at www.vietjetair.com.
